Yesterday I descended one step further into the depths of the Inferno. Yes, ladies and gentlemen . . I have progressed, some would say . . others would say that I've regressed . . you make the call.
I purchased a skein of yarn that now bears the distinction of - That Which Will Never Be Knitted. For those of you not comprehending this at all and are not on the same level as I have now reached, I will put it in lay terms for you: I will never, ever knit this skein of yarn. It is simply to be looked at lovingly, adored for all of its beauty; the epitome of yarn as I see it. Are there those of you out there that have something in your life like this? If so, then I think you're completely getting what I'm talking about here.
Do you have something in your posession . . . something that - when you saw it - you just melted? Something that is supposed to be used but you know you will never, ever use it? I have some material that I purchased from Longaberger in 1993/1994 that they used for the liner of their Lily of the Valley basket. It's still in my stash. I've never touched it. Scissors will never be within 10 feet of it. Why? Oh, purely because it is . . . Perfect. It needed to be with me . . . but I can never bring myself to hurt it in any way. There simply isn't any pattern out there worthy of this exquisite fabric.
So, without further ado . . . I show you my baby, in all his glory and beauty. I could never find a more perfect fiber in colors I dream of every night and day. Simply put - this is . . me:
malabrigio dusty olive #241
Kettle Dyed Pure Merino Wool, worsted weight

I am now farther down into the Inferno . . . I believe I've reached the fourth level. How much further can I go? I have no idea. But I'm sure I've only just begun.

Oh my gosh. I don't have any yarns yet that will not be knitted. Material... no that will be used eventually too. I just need the right projects for them. In the meantime I am using recycled items to knit and quilt with.
I am really impressed w/the pics of what you are doing as a new knitter. Way to go.

Oh, I totally have pet yarn, display yarn, yarn as decor, that sort of thing. Malabrigo is so soft and fabulous you just want to snuggle up with it and love on it.
