My nose is completely stuffed. Ugh. Last night was horrible! I couldn't sleep. I spent the night out on the couch because I didn't want to wake up John and have him all miserable because of me. What a night. Suffice it to say, at around 3:15am EST I almost decided to turn on the light and start knitting. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the energy so I just laid there until around 6:00am EST and then promptly fell into a deep sleep.
A little bit ago . . . I heard a knock on my door and . . the mailman dropped off a package for me. I was totally surprised at what was in the box . .
It looked like the Easter Bunny had arrived!! It was my prize for winning the short essay contest with my Knitters of Avalon KAL!! I am so humbled by the generosity . . I have never won a prize like this before.
Included is:
Chocolate bun bun
Bunny mug with candies
Handmade bar of Mint Julep soap from Cottage Garden Therapies
Set of US2 dpns
One beautiful hank of hand dyed 100% cotton yarn
Again, I am not worthy! Thank you to the group and to Brooke for giving me such pretty gifts. These gifties have definitely made my day much happier. :)
Today I've chosen my first pair of STR colorways for the Chevron Scarf from Joelle Hoverson's book -- Last-Minute Knitted Gifts. I have Fairgrounds on the side . . . awaiting the arrival of Covelite to go with it. I had originally ordered Watermelon Tourmaline to go with the Fairgrounds, but after winding them both up and putting the two together . . . I don't like the combination. I've decided to go with bright/dark combo to get some contrast and maybe achieve some interesting visual texture. I think the juxtaposition of the two distinctly different colorways will play off each other rather nicely.
Here's the first combo . . . STR in Lemongrass and Foofaraw, both heavyweight:
I'm off to continue on the little purses for my KAL. Have a great day everyone!!!

You lucky devil you! Love the swag you got in the prize! Sorry you are under the weather...I was actually home with a migraine on Thursday...we could have commiserated. I'll have to check out the Covelite now.

Congratulations on your gift box! Ain't the knitting community awesome?! I'm still gazing at the gift box I got on Monday.
Have you ordered Covelite yet? I happened to order some last Saturday (after getting home from B&N). It came on Wednesday. So if you haven't ordered it and want to take a look at mine to see if you like it let me know! I think it's a really pretty color.
Have a good weekend! Hope you're feeling better (cold or lovely FL spring allergies?).
