Last Saturday I went and visited the "new shop" . . . Fiber Art, Inc. Oh . . my . . goodness. It is, in one word - AMAZING. I am so happy for Roz!!!
While there, I picked up some yarn (of course, how couldn't I?). My knitting hiatus is over.
Noro Silk Garden #211A
I'm wondering how Silk Garden will felt . . . I'm going to try to make this into a square-ish purse. I'm not sure of what type of handle/strap to knit or if I will leave that part unfelted. I'm kinda winging it here with this . . . not really any plans in mind. All I knew was that I needed something to get me back in the swing of things.
Thank you to all for the good advice and wishes for my fast recovery. *wink*

Hooray for knitting again. I've finished one sock for you now. One to go, but oh having to wait until August to send it!? This will be hard!
Re: felting - I've never felt w/ Noro, but I made the mistake of not attaching *something* to my bag as a handle/strap pre-felting and it's now stood unfinished because the resulting material is so thick, I cannot sew threw it by hand! Good luck with your project.

Silk Garden was my first yarn that I used after I proved to Coach that I was really into knitting (and wouldn't give it up) and purchased something other than Lion Brand. Used it for a multidirectional scarf1

Oooh! Pretty yarn :) How about making a Brea Bag? I'm not sure what the gauge is, but I love this bag!

Silk Garden felts okay, although not quite as extensively as something with more wool content. You'll lose most but probably not all of your stitch definition.
It will, however, still look fabulous. Those are some really gorgeous colors you've got there!
