. . and the knitting is easy . .

Happy 4th of July to everyone in the USA!!

John bought me a rocking chair so that I can sit on our porch and enjoy the weather while I'm working on my projects. Isn't he such a great guy? Yeah, I think I'll keep him. ;)

Here's the before pic:

And after one coat of stain:

Chair 2 (070407)

I just love this color!! It's Olympic Semi-Transparent in Rosewood. I purchased it at Lowe's. I'm pretty happy about how this came out and I'm even thinking of leaving it at one coat. What do you think? Should I do a second coat or leave it as-is?

Also, I'm considering making my own cushion for it. I'm hoping some of you ladies out there who are amazing sewers would be willing to help me find a pattern or be so kind as to offer some tips. :)

I *love* the color of that chair! You did an awesome.
I hope all is well with you. =)

That turned out beautiful!

I love just one coat.....I love the look of it right now.....
As far as cushions....hmmm...Maybe just a long rectangular back piece in some great fabric......have you started it yet?

John did good! Like what you did with the chair! Now you just need a mint julep or something similar to sip while you knit. Oh wait we are supposed to not let our friends knit and drink.

hi!
i think that if it is a waterproof stain, you are only supposed to put on one coat otherwise the first coat will repel the second coat!
we just stained our deck a few weeks ago, and that is what the guy at rona told us.
it looks great though!
