I've been bit by the Mason-Dixon bug. Yep . . there's no denying it . . that little bugger got me.

Elmore Pisgah Peaches & Creme - Cream, Butterscotch, and Celery. Using US15 Addi Natura circs.
I have a couple more pics up on the Flickr site but I thought one would do for now. I'm about a 1/3 of the way done . . and I have about 6 more "rounds" to go. I'm thinking I might finish this by the end of the weekend. It's one of two. My second one will be done in the neutrals -- Ivory, Creme, and Ecru. Very classy, very clean. I think my mom might want one of those. ;)
I finished the darker golf club cover but I haven't been able to take a picture of it yet. Immediately after finishing, John grabbed it when he was heading out the door to catch his plane to NC for vacation with family. He just got back the other day but I still haven't had a chance to get a good shot. Seems as if all we ever have around here are thunderstorms. People think it's all sunny and gorgeous weather here in Florida . . but when you live here, you realize it's a different story. About the only time the weather is really, really good is from about October through January or February. Any other time it's either stifling HOT or thunderstorming right in the middle of every single day straight. UGH! I'm just glad this has been a quiet hurricane season (so far, cross your fingers!).
After I get this bathmat completed, I'm on to a pair of socks for John. I'm still contemplating the patterns but I seriously like both that my friend Shannon has done. I thought I was happy with the Charade until I saw her Anastasia just today . . now I can't decide. I think the Charade would be good for a first pair for a guy. I guess I should just ask John to make the decision, huh? I'll let you guys know what he picks.
Tonight I've decided to fix ham and cabbage for dinner. Yep, I'm boiling a picnic ham as I type this. For dessert is a chocolate and banana creme parfait that I'm whipping up. With the leftover broth from the ham and cabbage I will be straining it (as instructed by mom) and saving for homemade veggie soup. We're "eatin' good in the neighborhood" these days! :D
I hope everyone's having a fun and relaxing weekend.
[EDIT: He picked the Charade.]

Oooh, I like the bathmat! I love the color combo. I think Charade is a good choice for a guy. I'm making someone's first guy socks and it is a toss up between Charade and Boyfriend Socks. I know what you mean about Florida weather. Here is a tip: you know you've lived in Florida too long when it gets to be September and you actually say, "hey, finally some cooler weather." I really said that the other day - I guess I am finally a real Floridian.

He! It's fun to finally get to post with my real info! ;) Oh the number of times I almost did so during Sockapalooza.
I think John made the right choice! Anastasia are probably too girly (even without my colour choice). Check out Whimsical Knitting Designs too for she has lots of male-friendly sock patterns!

The Mason Dixen book has such fun patterns. I can't wait to see the finished project. I love Florida but having been there outside of the normal "nice" months I definitely know what you mean about the weather there.
