Monet couldn't have done better

As promised . . . here's the finished Monet's Garden Bag . . .

Monet's Garden Bag by Laura Bryant (finished 11/12/07)

As you can see when comparing to the picture of the one done by Laura Bryant in Cast On magazine, my Monet bag ended up being much more of a muted blue than green/turquoise. I'm sure this is due to the fact that I substituted Cascade 220 for the Brown Sheep . . . but . . please forgive me Ms. Bryant -- I love mine SO much more!!! I'm more of a lighter, pastel-y kind of person . . so this suits me perfectly!! The only modification I did to the design was to make the straps a bit sturdier by using a strand of each yarn (except for the Bubbles) when doing the I-cord. I like the straps a lot better this way.

Do I feel proud?? You bet!!!

Many thanks to Roz from Fiber Arts for getting the kit for this bag from Laura Bryant. And to Ms. Bryant herself for designing such a wonderful pattern. It's nice to see her do something more on the romantic and feminine side. Lately, her patterns seem to be taking on more of that type of flair and I'm hoping it continues. :)

Now, not to jinx things because I always seem to start a pair of socks and then they go haywire but . . . I've started a new pair of socks. This time I'm going to wait until I get past the darned heel before I post any pics though. *LOL* The heel is the Eye of the Partridge . . which I loved when Phoebe did her socks w-a-y back. I'm hoping I'm able to get through them okay. Cross your fingers for me!!

Aack! That bag is amazing! the colors, oh the colors!

Didn't get a chance to comment before I went home so here I am now.

That is gorgeous. Really gorgeous. I'm not even a handbag sort of person (and really still couldn't imagine carrying this), but it's so pretty just to look at! It's amazing how reminiscent of a Monet painting it is!

wow, leslie, it is fabulous!
great job!!!
and the chair looks pretty great too!!!

I love your bag! It is absolutely gorgeous and you're quite right to feel proud of it.

I wish there was somewhere here (UK) we could get the kit. It's a stunner.
